With love from the HORDE

A gift that started out as a silly idea for a quick sketch on a birthday card, before turning into a much bigger project.

Firstly I did a rough sketch of Skeletor and Hordak digitally to figure out the composition, then I printed that sketch out in order to get it onto my lightbox.

I then placed a sheet of Bristol Board over the rough sketch and got stuck in using my crowquill pens and a couple of brushes, To be honest I'm not a fan of my digital inking, it always looks rather dull and lifeless to me. Physical inking gives you much more texture and surprises.

Afterwards I scanned my clean lineart and dumped it into Photoshop so I could work up the colours from there.

Finally the logo was all done in Illustrator following the She-Ra style (and took days!)

Once everything was finished I sent it off to the printers and got it back as a lovely A3 poster.

She was very happy :)
